Technology allows us to connect with people all over the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have access to more data that we could consume in one lifetime, yet, have you stopped to consider how this is affecting your life, and the life of your child?  The “engagement based model”, is technology that was designed to keep our attention.  We should be asking ourselves, what is technology taking our attention away from?  Is technology a distraction for my child while doing homework or spending time with family?  Is technology preventing my child from growing in interpersonal skills?  Are there ways I can scale back my use of technology?  Technology is a wonderful thing, but we shouldn’t allow it to control us, or distract us from the things that really matter.
